“Energy Balance”


We all need energy; for metabolism, composition, digestion, physical and mental function. How much energy you intake largely depends on how much energy you expend. The more active you are, the more energy you need and vice versa.

Think of your body as a formula 1 car. Filling it full of premium fuel will ensure best performance, filling it with lower quality fuel will only enable it work sub-optimally, not filling it will enough fuel will cause it to break down and potentially stop.

Formula 1 cars can not keep racing forever, they need to pit stop, have the oil changed and specific components repaired. That’s why need to sleep in order for the body and mind to processes, repair, restore and strengthen.

We all have a choice when it comes to energy levels and therefore how we make ourselves feel. How you feel and function comes down to a fine balance of energy, quality choices and adequate recovery.

Make an extra effort to take extra care in the decisions you make when it comes down to energy. If you have a demanding job, complex training schedule and/or busy personal life then wanting to be at your best comes down to you and the things you decide to do!

It doesn’t take a lot to make positive changes, just start, now!

Recipe of the week

Full fat yoghurt w. banana, cinnamon & honey


  • Spoon full fat natural yoghurt into a bowl (we used FAGE total)
  • Roughly chop up a banana into bite size pieces on place on top of yoghurt
  • Drizzle a small amount of natural honey on top of banana
  • Sprinkle a dusting of cinnamon on top of honey
  • Serve as in picture
